We provide the following:

• Combined Oral Contraceptive Pill: A popular and reliable option. The pills contain 2 hormones, an oestrogen and a progestogen. There are many different brands to chose from. Dr. Cahill will help you chose the one to suit your individual needs. More Info...
   

• Combined Contraceptive Patch:  The 'Evra' patch is similar to the combined pill in that it contains an oestrogen and progestogen. Instead of a daily tablet it is a patch applied to the skin and changed once a week. More Info...

• Combined Contraceptive Vaginal Ring:  The 'NuvaRing' is an alternative means of delivering combined contraception, and involves a slim, soft plastic ring placed into the vagina and changed every 3 weeks by the woman herself. More Info...

• Progesterone-only Pill: A safe alternative for those who can’t take  oestrogen, and a great option for many women. The POP is a tablet taken every day without a break. More Info...

• Depo-Provera Contraceptive Injection: A 3-monthly injection offering longer term protection than pills. Very useful for women who are prone to forgetting to take pills. More Info...

• Mirena, Kyleena, and Jaydess Intrauterine Systems (Hormonal Coils):  These offer a longer-term, but reversible, solution for contraception. Coils are placed inside the womb in a procedure which is performed in the clinic by an experienced doctor. More Info...

• Traditional Copper Intrauterine Device (Copper Coil): A hormone-free coil option suitable for women who can't, or prefer not to, take hormonal contraceptives. More Info...

• New Ballerine Copper Intrauterine Ball: A modern, hormone-free choice. The smallest and newest of all the intrauterine devices. More Info...

• Implanon Subdermal Contraceptive Implant: A discreet and very effective long-term option. The 'bar' is inserted under the skin on the inside of the arm in a small procedure. More Info...

Accessible Contraception for Young Women

Recognising the importance of accessible contraception, we offer free contraception consultations for individuals aged between 17 and 35, subject to residency in Ireland and possession of a PPS number. This initiative underscores our commitment to supporting the reproductive health and well-being of young women in our community. The scheme will be extended to women up to age 35 sometime in the summer of 2024.
